The short version. When you join our waitlist we keep your email address and whether you want to buy or sell clubs. We use it to email you about the launch of Shank You. We don't sell it, rent it or give it to advertisers. You can ask us to delete it any time.
Who we are
Shank You is run by Shank You Pty Ltd (ABN 18 703 820 197), Perth, Western Australia ("we", "us"). We look after personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you join the waitlist on shankyou.com.au we collect:
- your email address
- whether you want to buy clubs, sell clubs, or both
- the date and time you signed up
We don't ask for your name, phone number, address or any payment details on this page. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep basic technical logs (such as your IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running.
Why we collect it and how we use it
- To email you when Shank You launches, and with occasional updates about the launch.
- To understand how many buyers and sellers are interested, so we know where to launch first.
We won't use your email for anything else without asking you first. Every email we send will have a way to unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers or golf shops.
We use Google Firebase (Google LLC) to host this website and store the waitlist. The waitlist is stored in Google's Sydney (Australia) data centre. Google may process limited technical information outside Australia to provide and secure its services. We may also use an email service to send launch emails; it only receives what it needs to send them.
We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How we keep it safe
The waitlist can only be added to from this website. Nobody can read it from the website: only authorised Shank You staff can see it, through our secure account with Google. We keep it only as long as we need it for the launch, and delete it when it's no longer needed.
Your choices
- See or correct what we hold about you: email us and we'll tell you.
- Delete it: email us and we'll remove you from the waitlist, usually within 7 days.
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in the email.

Email admin@shankyou.com.au. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our answer you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
When the app launches
This policy covers the waitlist. Before the Shank You app opens, we'll update this page to explain the extra information the app uses (for example your account details, listings and viewings), and we'll let waitlist members know.
